On which ball to play?
square cut is played on the balls which are short in length and pitched outside off stump.
Check List:-
- Unlike other backfoot shots, in square cut back foot only moves across the stump , to avail batsmen hitting it in point area.
- arms should be fully extended to get maximum power and control.
- arms moves slightly from above the shoulder and wrist rolls at the time of contact to keep ball down.
- body weight should be transferred on backfoot.
Check List:-
- No rolling of wrists
- Body weight not transferred on back foot
